Harmonized Gemmology

A working group which consists of seven representatives of the most important gemmological laboratories is currently working on the subject of finding harmonized results and expression on gemmological test reports. Members of the so-called LMHC comittee are the following aboratories:

  • AGTA - Gemological Testing Center (USA)
  • CISGEM (Italy)
  • GAAJ Laboratory (Japan)
  • GIA - Gem Trade Laboratory (USA)
  • GIT - Gem Testing Laboratory (Thailand)
  • Gübelin Gemlab (Switzerland)
  • SSEF Swiss Gemmological Institute (Switzerland)

The representatives meet four times a year to keep working on their harmonizing work and to finally publish a handbook for other laboratories. Results of the subjects already dealt with can be loaded down here.
