As a consequence of our extensive gemmological education program and the rising demand of our course participants, SSEF Swiss Gemmological Institute offers now the SSEF Tutorial 1 on CD-ROM based on our gemmological courses. The SSEF Tutorial 1 comprises of four presentations on the following contents:

a) How to separate natural diamonds from synthetic diamonds and imitations,
b) the formation of nacre and pearls,
c) fracture repair and foreign substances in rubies,
d) identification of enhancement in emeralds.

All four presentations are given in an English and a German version on CD-ROM, available in both, PC or Mac format. A French version is still in preparation. The presentations are running with Microsoft Powerpoint™. A freeware version of this program is on the CD-ROM, so that the presentations start automatically just by inserting the CD-ROM.

The presentations are based on extensive SSEF research. Spectacular macro- and microphotographs together with scientific background information are now at your disposal to upgrade your professional knowledge in gemmology on critical issues of the trade.
