Dr. Michael S. Krzemnicki, FGA
is with SSEF since February 1998. Since June 2009 he is director of SSEF and replaces Prof. Hänni, now retired.
His main working field is gemstone testing and education.
Education:
Dr Krzemnicki got his Master's degree in Mineralogy in 1992 and his PhD in 1996 in Basel, Switzerland.
FGA Diploma in January 1998.
Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.
Fellow of the Swiss Gemmological Society SGG.
Special interests/current research:
Laser ablation ICP mass spectrometry, Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy LIBS, Raman spectroscopy, luminescence spectroscopy,
origin determination of coloured stones, detection of treated stones and pearls
